Ziegler, Rodney MichaelMADISON/SUN PRAIRIE - Rodney Michael Ziegler, age 45, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at Meriter Hospital. He was born on Dec. 5, 1963, in Madison, the son of Dean and Virginia (Mason) Ziegler. Rodney graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1982. While in high school he was very active in drama, choir and marching band. He also was involved in FFA, was a state champion livestock judge, and a member of the State FFA Choir for five years, and also a member of the National FFA Choir. Rodney was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He worked for CUNA for 20 years after graduation. He was currently employed by Clifton Gunderson as a technical trainer. Rodney enjoyed the performing arts, and was a charter member of the Perfect Harmony Choir. He was an avid volleyball player, and enjoyed family vacations, including a recent trip to New York City. Rodney is survived by his parents, Dean and Virginia of Sun Prairie; brother, Dan (Sue) of New Glarus; sister, Debra (Robert) Calder of Madison; brother, Doug (Patty) of Sun Prairie; nieces, Emily, Sarah (Joe) Sarbacker, Kristin Shafer and Morgan; and nephews, Jon and Carson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, with the Rev. Shirley Funk presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home, from 11 a.m until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials may be made in Rodney\'s name to the local Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Greater Madison Chapter, 7818 Big Sky Drive, Suite 220, Madison, WI 53719.
