Obituary

Huth, Jeffrey W. MIDDLETON/CORRALITOS, CALIF.-Jeffrey W. "Jeff" Huth, of Corralitos, Calif., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, to be with his dad and brother. Born April 1, 1958, in Virginia, he was the son of Mike and D.Ann Huth. Jeff grew up in the Kimberly/Combined Locks area of Wisconsin. As a child, he loved building forts and playing with friends along the winding creek in the wooded ravine behind his home. He loved outdoor Boy Scout activities and in junior high school, he was chosen to help adults lead a group of younger scouts hike the Appalachian Trail in Virginia. While attending high school in Wisconsin, Jeff enjoyed being on a state championship debate team and playing trumpet in the jazz band. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a major in economics and then studied computer science at the University of Wisconsin for a year. Jeff loved the challenge of being a successful computer software architect and he had a passion for programming. After working for various startup companies in Silicon Valley, he started his own successful software design company. At the time of his death, Jeff worked for Mimosa Systems as a consultant under his company name, Hanuman Solutions. He was his happiest when hiking, backpacking, camping, horseback riding, and skiing in the mountains of California. Another favorite place of Jeff's was at Big Sur on the Pacific Ocean. Jeff loved having family members join him in all these adventures. He enjoyed traveling and hiking by himself, spending 10 weeks touring Europe in the 70s, and recently touring India and Nepal and hiking in the foothills of the Himalayas. For the past 10 years in Corralitos, Jeff has cherished his rich family life with Jodi Louderback, Annabelle, and Duni, and all their many animals, large and small. He was previously married to Susan Wagoner Stanley of Madison and they lived in Walnut Creek, Calif. with her children, Eli and Rachael. Jeff is survived by his mother, Dorothy "D'Ann" Galloway Huth and her husband and Jeff's "second dad", Joseph A. Hickey; two nieces, Hannah Huth Mello and Lauren Huth Mello; and Jodi Louderback and her children, Annabelle Louderback and Duni Valenzuela. He was preceded in death by his father, Myron Huth; and his brother, Dr. Joel B. Huth of Madison. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at ST. D'Ann: We are deeply saddened to read of Jeff's untimely death. He was an integral part of our championship debate teams at KHS. I'm so proud of him and honored to have been his coach. We'll be there on Saturday to honor his passing and the joy and pride he brought to our lives.
