What a wonderful man Joe Skinner was. He was so giving in everything he did. It's so hard to talk about Joe without mentioning Eleanor. A wonderful couple they made and together they will always be remembered. I met Joe and Eleanor when they volunteered at the St. Croix hospital. Every week like clockwork they came and did whatever was asked of them..everyone loved them and no one has forgotten them. Believe me, no one that ever met Joe (and Eleanor!) has ever forgotten him. He was a good man with a very giving heart.
My working relationship with Joe and Eleanor at the hospital turned into a real friendship and I feel so very blessed. Eleanor turned into my quilting mentor and Joe turned into my friend for allowing her the time she gave to me.
On behalf of the hospital..Thank you for your faithfulness for so many years and for all you did for us. All the hours you gave to us and for being there for those that needed you. Joe died on the day of the hospital's annual Foundation Dinner, which was a fundraiser that he use to craft and donate a dollhouse to every year.
My prayers and love go to you Eleanor and to your family at this sad time.
