Obituary
MADISON- Denis F. "Denny" Dennis, age 67, a lifelong Madison area resident, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 28, 1942, in Madison, the son of Floyd and Isabelle (Hamm) Dennis. Denny served in the US Army from March 1964 until March 1966. He married Patricia Caruso on June 24, 1967, in Madison. Denny worked as an electrician for 42 years in the Madison area. He enjoyed bowling, helping his son, James, race at Oregon, NASCAR, boating, his motorcycle, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Denny always greeted people with a smile and offered a helping hand when needed. He was a member of the Stoughton VFW #328 and American Legion Post #59. Denny is survived by his wife, Patricia; three children, Michelle (Jim) Littel, James (Sara) Dennis, and Christopher (Melissa) Dennis; seven grandchildren, Abigail Dennis, Nick Littel, Isabel Dennis, Anna Dennis, Zack Littel, Kasen Herold, and Karter Dennis; brothers and sisters, George (Sandy) Dennis, Robert (Colleen) Dennis, Karen Vincent, Gary (Mary Ann) Dennis, Allen (Wendy) Dennis and Jayne Dennis; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Benjamin Littel; and sister, Alice Lehmann. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m., with Reverend Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at the funeral home, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and also from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc., and the Carbone Cancer Clinic. A special thank you to Dr. Traynor, Dr. Khuntia, and their staff at the U.W.
