Mary Rose Larsen

Larsen, Mary Rose MADISON-Mary Rose Larsen, age 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, following a long illness. She was born on May 14, 1923, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Joseph and Madeline (Misia) Cerniglia. Mary married Leo Larsen on July 27, 1946, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in 1999. Mary worked as an accounts receivable clerk for Oscar Mayer for 35 years. She was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church, and was active with the Oscarette's and The Ready Group. Mary enjoyed bowling, golfing, shopping, and loved doing crafts. She was a very vivacious woman, who loved her family. Mary is survived by her sons, Leo (Patti) Larsen Jr. of Waunakee, and Michael Larsen of Madison; three grandchildren, Lisa (Tim) Lerdahl of Waunakee, Cynthia (Matt) Bednarchik of Springfield, Ill., and Amber (Todd) Taylor of Madison; eight great-grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph and Samuel Lerdahl, Evan and Ian Wilson, Elyse Kruger, Ryan (Stacy) Taylor, and Natalie Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Kinley Wilson; two sisters, Sara (Bob) Lynch of Milwaukee, and Madeline (Ralph) Galkowski of Mequon; a brother, Ignatius (Claudia) Cerniglia of Milwaukee; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Joseph. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
