PhotoKvalheim, Joan L.SUN PRAIRIE - Joan L. Kvalheim, age 82, died peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2009. She was born on March 4, 1927 in Madison to Andrew and Nellie (Johnson) Foss. Joan graduated from Madison East High School in 1945 and married Howard Kvalheim on January 1, 1949. She and Howard farmed for many years in the Sun Prairie area. In the evenings after farmwork was done, Joan would play the piano and Howard the violin to the delight of their children. Together they instilled a love of music in all their family. Joan was a long-time devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Miriam Circle, was pianist for the Trinity Mission Society, and a faithful deliverer of homebound communion for many years. She was also proud of her Norwegian heritage and was pleased to be able to travel to Norway in her later years. Joan is survived by children, Katherine (Robert) Nass, Andrew (Marie) Kvalheim, Mary (Harold) Bohne, Daniel (Lori Beth) Kvalheim and Laura Kvalheim (Jim Lottridge); Grandchildren, Robert (Wendy) Nass, Bethany (Jason)Cseh, Kristianna (Jerrod) Mason, Annalisa (Matthew) Lung, Julianna (John) Taylor, Timothy (Amy) Kvalheim, Rebecca and Jonathon Kvalheim, Mathew, Zachary, and Jessica Bohne, James (Stephanie) Kvalheim, Michael (Jenna) Kvalheim, Kristen Kvalheim, Dane, Elling Rose, and Bekk Lottridge; Great Grandchildren, Caleb, Brianna and Erica Nass, Dylan and Andrew Mason, Isaac and Emily Cseh and Lily Kvalheim; extended family, Wayne, Agnes, Ben and Miriam Valley; Nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; Grandson, Joseph Kvalheim; Sister, Norma Foss and Brother, Richard Foss. Memorial services will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago Street at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 11, 2009 with Rev. John Ruppenthal presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will take place on Monday at Roselawn Memorial Park. A Special thank you to Trinity Lutheran Church women for their years of support and friendship; HospiceCare for their gentle guidance and Belmont Rehabilitation staff for their diligent care. Memorials will be used for support to Trinity Lutheran Church. We love and will miss you Bestamor.\r\n
