Dybevik, Reuben D. "Bud"
STOUGHTON-Reuben D. "Bud" Dybevik, age 83, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at St. Marys Hospital. He was born on June 1, 1926, in Stoughton, the son of Mildred (Lund) and Jens Dybevik. Bud graduated from Stoughton High School on June 1, 1944. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Army serving during World War II, in the Philippines. Bud was discharged on Nov. 24, 1946. He married Evelyn "Evie" Cornish on July 9, 1949, in Stoughton. Bud worked for UniRoyal, retiring at age 62. He enjoyed spending winters in Arizona with Evie. Bud enjoyed flying, and was a life member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He built a Skybolt airplane with his good friend, Roger Amundson and rebuilt a Stinson airplane with Keith Swalheim. Bud and his friends built and rebuilt many planes over the years. He will be greatly missed at the Pontiac garage, where he spent many hours with friends, tinkering with airplane parts and talking smart. Bud was a member of Stoughton VFW and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Evie; son, Tom Dybevik; daughter, Nancy (Randy) Comstock; daughter-in-law, Laurie Dybevik; grandsons, Greg and Trevor (Kelsey) Dybevik; granddaughters, Lisle (Tory Wensel) Comstock and Nicole (Joe Hanson) Comstock; great-grandson, Ethan Hanson; a brother, Richard (Judy) Dybevik; sister, Audrey Halverson;and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Roger Halverson.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, Highway 51 North at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, with Monsignor Gerard Healy presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed.
