Kurth, Vera M.
MADISON- Vera M. Kurth, age 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at the HospiceCare Center. She was born on April 5, 1921, in Washington Township, the daughter of Otto and Elsie (Gudenschwager) Schulz. Vera married Jerome Kurth on April 5, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2004. Vera enjoyed gardening, walking and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed life, and always had a smile on her face. Most of all, Vera loved spending time with her family and friends. She was affectionately known as "G.G." (great-grandma) by her great-nephews. Vera devoted her life to her husband and daughter. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Hahn; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; daughter, Cheryl Kurth; brother, Alvin Schulz; and sister, Arlene Luelkens. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711 . The family wishes to express a special thank you to Terry and Kathy Kurth for all the care they gave Vera.
