Olson, Alvar E. "Ole"STOUGHTON - Alvar E. "Ole" Olson, age 92, of Stoughton, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, in Stoughton, at Skaalen Home. He was born on March 26, 1917, the son of Adolph and Emilia (Berger) Olson. Ole graduated from West High School. He married Lillian Jorgensen in 1948, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison. Ole worked for many years at Bowman Dairy as a milkman. He later worked in home construction and then as a stock clerk at UW-Madison. Ole enjoyed gardening, woodworking, home maintenance and playing cards. Ole is survived by his children, Laurine (Fritz) Carstens of Madison and Dr. Barry (Susan) Olson of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; five grandchildren, Kevin (Amy) Carstens of Green Bay, Brian (Jennifer) Carstens of Waukesha, Dr. Christopher (Paula) Olson of Tampa, Fla., David Olson of Omaha, Neb., and Erika (Kevin) Boot of Clive, Iowa; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillian; ex-wife, Isla Thompson; and sister, Alice Dibelius. Funeral services will be held at SKAALEN HOME CHAPEL, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, with the Rev. James Koza presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Skaalen Spirit Team (employee recognition program).
