PhotoDavis, Charles Robinlee Jr.MADISON-Charles Robinlee Davis Jr., age 30 of Madison passed away on Wednesday, Jan.13, 2010, at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on Sept. 9, 1979, in Madison, the son of Ruth Brekke Davis and Charles Lee Davis. He attended Madison East High School, where he was a standout athlete in both track and field and football. He continued to participate in athletics at Edgewood College, running on the track team. He also spent time participating in Amnesty International and studying abroad in Sweden, where his love of language and culture flourished. He graduated from Edgewood in May 2007 with degrees in Religious Studies and Psychology. He since volunteered with the Boy and Girls Club of Madison in their music program, teaching kids to mix music with turntables and records, and accompanying the Black Star Drumline at their performances. It is clear that music played an important role his life. A man filled with such enthusiasm, eloquence and wisdom beyond his years, Charles Davis will be forever missed by all those whose lives he touched throughout the years.He is survived by his father; his siblings, Anthony, Antoinette, Diana Dorsey, and James Wilhelmi; his many foster siblings; his aunts and uncles, Kristi and Jostein Brekke of Stoughton, Annlaug Anderssen, Gjertrude and Norvald Brekke, Reidun and Halldor Brekke (all of Norway); and his many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth; his foster mother, Diane Rita Johnson; and his aunt, Asbjorg Brekke. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Howard Bailey, who cared for Charles during his last years, and the many staff at HospiceCare who provided comfort and compassion to Charles, his friends and family.A service honoring Charles will be held at ST. JOSEPH CHAPEL, at Edgewood College, 1000 Edgewood College Drive, Madison at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010. A visitation will be at 3:00 p.m. until the time of service Monday. A celebration of Charles life and music will follow. Donations can be made to Edgewood College to support a scholarship program in Charles name. I am truly at a loss for words. I keep thinking back to 5th grade when we met at Emerson elementary...Middle school when you were my bf, lol. I love you, miss you, and will never ever forget you.

I still remember the first time I meet you at my grandma ritas house when I returnned from virgina. We played football at the park accross the street from her house. We did not realy get along at first, but throughout the years from elementry on up we grew closer.Even though we havent seen each other since the year of Ritas death, It still hurt bad when I got the news. Just remember you will always be remebered and never forgotten.

Baby brother. I have thought of you every day since you've been gone. My heart is still broken - I wish I could pick up the phone and call you. I can still hear your voice in my head as if you're speaking to me.
I am so sorry I never had the chance to come and see you. You were so brave and stoic that I didn't know you were as ill as you had been. So like you!
My heart goes out to your family, loved ones, and friends. I lost family the day you left. I fondly cherish our time together at Edgewood and it was my supreme pleasure to host you when you came to visit me in Philadelphia.
