Obituary

Pfanku, Janice MADISON-Janice Stewart Pfanku R.N., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Oregon Manor in Oregon. Janice was born Dec. 24, 1915, the daughter of Claude and Etta Stewart in Woodstock, Wis. Janice graduated from Methodist School of Nursing. She began her career in nursing at Wisconsin General Methodist Hospital, then she worked until her retirement at The Central Wisconsin Center. She was very proud of her nursing career. Janice met Steve Pfanku in Madison. They were united in marriage on Oct. 1, 1938. Together they were charter members of Bashford United Methodist Church. Janice and Steve loved to travel. Eventually, they retired to Bonita Springs, Fla. They spent many happy years shelling and walking the beach. They enjoyed every sunset. Janice is survived by her children, Richard (Linda) Pfanku of Madison, Claudia (Dale) Richardson of Oregon and Fredrick (Karen) Pfanku of Madison; grandchildren, Kenneth (Ellen) Richardson of Cross Plains, Donna (Kenrick) Womack of DeForest, Aimee (Justin) Bender of Muscatine, Iowa, John (Victoria) Richardson of Mount Horeb, Steven Pfanku of Madison and Angela Pfanku of Madison; great-granchildren, Kendra, Kayci, Nevaeh, Laurel, Sienna, Ian, Aubrey and Isaac. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Steve. A celebration of Janice\'s life was privately held by her family.
