Obituary
MADISON-Rudolf E. "Rudy" Maurer, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Monday March 1, 2010. Memorial services will be held at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, with the Reverend Jason Zoebel presiding. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Food Pantry or to Bethel Lutheran Church, 312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison, WI 53703.

Gretchen and family,
I feel so sad about your father. I have many fond memories of him. The time we skied out west with your parents and the great meal at a place called the Onion (I think). Since we slept in sleeping bad and they drove out, I remember your dad picking up my pillow and sleeping bag at my work. I remember when you moved to your second house and your folks helping with the move. And just so many other times that he was there for you. In my mind he will always be that strong, active man he was when we were in our 20, 30, and 40s. He was very special and my heart goes out to you. I love you and am praying for you during this difficult time.
