In 1986, Frances spent seven weeks at Hines V.A. Blind Center, Hines, Ill., where she learned self-discipline, mobility, and how to cope with macular degeneration which began in 1981. Frances was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In her earlier retirement, she had enjoyed playing golf and loved helping to make the world's finest fruitcakes at the St. Mary of the Lake Church in Westport.
