Obituary

Buege, Frederic E. "Fred" MADISON-Frederic E. "Fred" Buege, age 88, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010. He was born on June 15, 1921, in Milwaukee, the son of Carl and Anna (Grebel) Buege. Fred graduated from Milwaukee State Teachers College (now UW-Milwaukee). He married Erma Ninnemann on June 20, 1942, in Rock Springs. She preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 1974. Fred served in the U. S. Navy as a supply officer from 1943 until 1946. He was involved in supply corps training in the Navy at the Graduate School of Business Administration at Harvard. Fred married the former Ione Holford Techlow Gorz on Aug. 1, 1976, in Madison. She preceded him in death on June 4, 2001. Fred retired from Ohio Medical, where he worked in personnel human resources. He was a member of Eastside Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he had served on the church council, its building committee and continued as a volunteer with the school for many years. Fred was also a member of Madison East/Monona Rotary. He enjoyed gardening, travel, golfing, woodworking, and especially his family. Fred is survived by two sons, William F. Buege and Robert C. (Joan) Buege, both of Mequon; Robert\'s children, Barbara (Darren) Selk, Nancy (Andy) Reis, and James Buege; great-granddaughters, Morgan and Shannon Selk; stepchildren, Russ (Fran) Techlow of Arizona, Linda (Ron) Stadler of Richland Center, Kathy (David) Hedin of Minnesota, and Eileen (Ron) Betzer of Vermont; step grandchildren, Rebecca Techlow, Joseph (Bethany) Stadler, Phillip and Tom Stadler, Andrew (Theresa) Hedin, Keith (Jenny) Hedin, and Angela (Andy) Benko; and 11 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Carl Buege. Funeral services will be held at EASTSIDE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2310 Independence Lane, Madison, at noon on Friday, April 9, 2010, with the Rev. Mike Novotny presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
