Gary "Butch" BunnellMADISON - Gary "Butch" Bunnell, age 56, of Monona, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital. Gary was born in Madison to Delbert and Vera (Harrison) Bunnell on March 16, 1954. He married Dawn Hanson on Sept. 3, 1977 in Madison. Butch loved everything about classic cars, drag racing and motorcycles. His hobby was his occupation. Butch was known for drag racing his '69 Camaro, Chee'ta Sonrise. He owned many different classic cars throughout his life, and could tell you in detail about all of them. Butch was a classic car restorer, auto fabricator, and drag racer. He was a member of the Classic Cruisers, and Sons of War. Butch's family and friends always came first and he loved spending time with them. Butch is survived by his wife, Dawn of Monona; two sons, Robert and William of Monona; mother, Vera Berg of Stratford;five sisters, Bev (Les) Kulke of Gilmen, Mary Salt of Deforest, Carol (Gary) Patrick of Stratford, Debbie (Ken) Klahn of Gilmen, and Shirley Smith of Stratford. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Delbert; three brothers, Dean and Dale, and Ron; and two sisters, Betty Raether and Peggy Anderson. Funeral Services will be held at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2010, with the Rev. Gary Reynolds presiding. Procession to Roselawn Memorial Park will follow services. Visitation will be from11:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
