Obituary

Miller, Mary Eleanor (Kennedy) MONONA-Mary Eleanor (Kennedy) Miller, age 92, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010. She was born on Jan. 27, 1918, in Westport, the daughter of William Coll and Mary Elizabeth (Corcoran) Kennedy. After graduating from Madison East High School in 1936, Eleanor worked as a PBX operator for the phone company and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the bursers office as an account clerk, where she met her husband, A. Roger Miller. They were married on Sept. 12, 1953. Eleanor was proud of her Irish heritage. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Eleanor prayed constantly for her family, whom she dearly loved. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne (Larry) Reed of Monona; son, Bob (Sharon) Miller of Monona; four grandchildren, Katy (Peter Schuck) Reed, Clint Reed, Joe Miller and Sean Miller; and a sister, Elaine Rattunde of Madison. Eleanor enjoyed the love and support of her nieces and nephews, especially the Rattunde, Schmit and Barton families. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Raymond "Bud" Kennedy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2010, with Father Jay Poster and Father John Meinholz concelebrating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul or HospiceCare Inc. "Mom/Aunt Eleanor, your kindness and selflessness, we will forever remember and adapt to our lives."
