Anderson, Geraldine Millissa 'Gerry'

Anderson, Geraldine Millissa "Gerry" MONONA/MCFARLAND-Geraldine Millissa "Gerry" Anderson passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Franciscan Skemp Hospital. She was born on March 11, 1922, in Madison, the daughter of Stanley and Harriet (Trevett) Seiler. She married Stanley Anderson in November 1942, in Madison. After raising her family, Gerry worked for Madison General Hospital in housekeeping. They lived in Monona for 25 years and in 1979 they moved to their retirement home in McFarland. She enjoyed needlepoint and stitching, which Stan framed, and the family cherishes her handiwork today. Gerry's kindness and compassion were two of her greatest attributes. Her faith was important to her and she was active in her church community. Gerry is survived by her children, Doug Anderson (Janell Bush) of Tomah, Marilyn McConnell RSM of California, Judy Anderson (John Herman) of Verona, Stan Anderson (Judy Sonnemann) of Black Earth; grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Altenburg, Lisa (Steve) Atkinson, Ken (Jen) Anderson, Steve Pearson, and Luke, Matt and Nick Anderson; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley in 1999; parents; daughter, Catherine Anderson; and brother, Donald Seiler. Funeral services will be held at MCFARLAND UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 5710 Anthony St., McFarland, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010, with the Rev. Wayne Shannon presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Burial will be at Blooming Grove Cemetery. We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Tomah Memorial Hospital and the Franciscan Skemp Hospital for making Gerry's last days comfortable.
