Obituary
MADISON-DeLane L. "Dee" Strand, age 81, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at HospiceCare Inc. She was born on Aug. 19, 1928, in Madison, the daughter of Robert and Anna (Ramsfield) Leske. Dee married Arthur Strand on Jan. 22, 1950, in Madison. She worked at Leskes Supper Club for many years, while raising her children. Dee worked at Meriter Hospital for several years and then ran an in-home childcare. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. Dee and Art always looked forward to their weekends at Holiday Shores Campground in Wisconsin Dells, as well as traveling around the country. She enjoyed her time with her many friends, playing cards and embracing life. Dee is survived by her daughter, Sherrie (Linda Covert) Strand; son, Bob (Lisa) Strand; and two granddaughters, Brittany and Lauren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Memorial services will be held at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5202 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, at noon on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, with the Rev. Jeff Vanden Heuvel presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. A very special thanks to Dees extended family at Heritage Assisted Living in Monona for their care, love and friendship; also to Meriter Hospital and Hospice for their wonderful care during the last few days of her life.
