Ballentine, William V. "Bill"
MADISON- William V. "Bill" Ballentine, age 81, of Madison, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at St. Marys Hospital. He was born on June 14, 1929, the son of William and Anna (Birrenkott) Ballentine. He retired from the UW Physical Plant in 1994. Bill loved hunting and was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. He is survived by two brothers, Lyle Ballentine and Duane (Marlene) Ballentine; and a sister, Carol Smith, all of Madison; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Ballentine; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Donald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd, Madison, on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

We are very saddened to hear that William V. "Bill" Ballentine recently passed away. His brother, Lyle, was my friendly neighbor on Paus Street when I was just a little girl. I also knew Bill's nieces and nephews. I was especially close to Sharon. She will miss her uncle a great deal. The DePrey family also wishes to extend their condolences to the Ballentine family.
