Obituary
BROOKLYN-Delwyn "Percy" Henriksen passed away on July 10, 2010 at the Evansville Manor after being diagnosed 5 weeks ago with a brain tumor. He was born in rural Brooklyn on October 9, 1934 to Edward and Wilva (West) Henriksen. He spent the majority of his childhood on Church Street in Brooklyn. He and his brother, Renald, were the local paperboys for many years delivering both the Capital Times and the Wisconsin State Journal. One of the highlights of his young life was a trip with the Boy Scouts to the Valley Forge Jamboree in PA. in 1950. He graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1953. He attended MATC and graduated from Chef training after receiving many awards from the Wisconsin Restaurant Institute. He went to work at the Simon House in Madison as a chef until it burned in 1955. He enlisted in the Army and graduated from Food Service School in 1957. After his honorary discharge, in 1959 he went to work at the Top Hat in Middleton as a chef where he stayed until it closed in 1988. He then worked at The Yahara Center until his retirement. He married Doris "Evie" (Elliott) Tucker on July 1, 1968. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Tourdot and his grandson, Daniel Tourdot, sisters, Cleo (Gerald) Tilley, Ila (Gary) Stephenson all of Brooklyn, brothers Renald (Vera),of Rice Lake, WI and Stewart (Terry) of Elizabethtown, KY. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1973, parents, niece and nephew. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 13 at the Brooklyn Community United Methodist Church from 10:00 am until services. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am at the church with burial at the Mount Hope cemetery. Pastor Gail Brown will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church building fund or Brooklyn Fire/EMS district would be appreciated.

Burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation:
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 13 at the Brooklyn Community United Methodist Church from 10:00 am until services.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am at the church with burial at the Mount Hope cemetery. Pastor Gail Brown will officiate.
