Janet E. Poast

Poast, Janet E. Verona-Janet E. Poast, age 87, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010, at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Janet was born on October 18, 1922, the daughter of William and Bertha (Meister) Redders. She married Clifford Poast on October 4, 1942 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Middleton. Janet was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Verona. Janet loved playing cards and bingo and she also loved baking. Janet made many ceramics with her husband, Clifford. She is survived by her children: daughter, Lila (Roger Barr) Bethke of Verona; Barbara (Jim) Getz of Madison; son, Gary (Beth) Poast of Rhinelander; son, Duane (Merry) Poast of DeForest; a sister-in-law, Lenore Redders of Middleton; 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends . Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; grandson, Brian Hallen; sister, Evelyn Hoesly and a brother, Earl Redders. Funeral services will be held at ST. JAMES EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 427 S. Main Street, Verona, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, with Rev. Peter Narum presiding. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison. There will be a visitation at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010, and also from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church or to HospiceCare Inc.
