Marjorie Mae Klinge

MADISON-Marjorie Mae Klinge, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010.Marjorie Mae Turner was born in Richland Center on Sept. 5, 1933 to Garnett E. Turner and Clara Mae (Scott) Turner. She was the fourth of six children, but she was the baby of the family for ten years. She attended the one room Rocky Branch elementary school and Richland Center High school where she particularly enjoyed Chorus, Glee Club and sang in trios, quartets and as soloist in competition. She sang for many weddings and funerals. After high school she worked for a year at Burhams Drug Store in Richland Center. On July 12, 1952 she was married to Herbert F. Klinge who was serving in the Air Force. They lived in Crestview, Florida near Eglin Air Force Base. During temporary duty assignments they also lived for several months in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Long Beach, California. While in Florida, their first son Ronald Everett was born. Since Herb\'s discharge they have resided in Madison. Two more sons, William Frederick and Bryan Herbert were born in Madison. Marjorie and Herb spent 58 wonderful years together raising their sons, traveling and enjoying life. Marjorie was active in University Dames ( a student wives organization), church choir, school and neighborhood organizations such as treasurer of PTA and of St. Luke's Church Women, as Cub Scout Den Mother, and as a member of the Service League of Oakwood Lutheran Homes. Marjorie was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and at Meriter Hospital for many years. She was also a hair fashion model for Johns of Middleton. In addition to her husband Herbert, and her three sons, survivors include her son Ron's wife, Cindy; five grandchildren, Brandi (Chris) Filsinger, Jason (Kristin) Klinge, Christopher Klinge, Ryan Klinge and Shawn Klinge; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Briana and Aleea; four sisters, Evelyn Hall, Marilyn Rudersdorf, Nancy (Ron) Peterson, and Susan (Joseph) Thering, a brother Wilford (Phyllis) Turner and other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held at ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton at 11:00 Am on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 with the Reverend Heather Lampert presiding. Burial will be in Thompson's Fancy Creek Cemetery in Richland Center. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave, Middleton and also on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at the church. Marjorie will be cherished in the hearts of those who loved her and will be deeply missed by all.
