Cecil Ralph 'Cy' Wendt

STOUGHTON-On Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, Cecil Ralph \"Cy\" Wendt ended his earthly journey and went to be with his Lord and Savior. Cy was born on Aug. 29, 1922, to William and Anna (Rusch) Wendt in Owen, and spent his childhood years there. Following graduation from high school, Cy extendedhis love of operating ham radios through service to his country as amember of the United States Army\'s Signal Corp. He retired from AT&T in1985, after 38 years of service as a technician. Cy followed the newsvery closely through various news programs and newspapers, and loved todiscuss the politics of the day with whoever would listen. Cy had a softheart for children and animals, who followed him wherever he went. Cy issurvived by his wife of 46 years, Karen (Brown) Wendt, children, Linda(Jan) Pyzik of Houltan, Ralph (Mary) Wendt of Cedar City, Utah, David Julie Wendt of Hubertus, JoAn Mickelson of Montello, William (Sonja)Wendt of Westminster, Colo., Michael (Chris) Wendt of Lexington, S.C., anda step-daughter, Cindy (Tom) Nawrocki of Stoughton. Cy also leaves behindmany grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Acelebration of Cy\'s life will be held at CHRIST THE KING COMMUNITY CHURCH,401 W. Main Street, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, withPastor Ron Dobie officiating. A visitation will be held at the churchfrom 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. The family wishesto thank the wonderful staff of Friendship Circle at Skaalen Home fortheir tender and compassionate care to Cy during the final season of his life. Go in peace, dear husband, father, grandfather and friend. We look forward to a joyful reunion one day. Our memories of you will never die.
