Diane (Jozefowicz) Hill

MADISON - Diana (Jozefowicz) Hill, age 63, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at St. Marys Hospital, Madison. She was born on Dec. 9, 1946, in Platteville, daughter of Frank and Verda (McCabe) Jozefowicz. In 1965, Diana graduated from Platteville High School, where she participated in choir and theatre arts where she had the lead in "Annie Get Your Gun." After graduation she moved to Madison where she met Larry, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. She married Larry W. Hill Oct. 23, 1965, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Platteville. While in the military, the family lived in such places as Upper Michigan, Hawaii, Italy and South Carolina. After leaving the military, they lived for a time in Port Orchard,Wash. While in Port Orchard, Diane displayed her love for music by singing with the Sweet Adelines. Eventually, the family returned to the Midwest and settled in Madison. Diane earned her degree in nursing and worked at the University Hospital in Madison. Later in life, Diane took a year off from nursing and learned to drive semi, some of her fondest memories were of being on the road with her husband. Diane also enjoyed oil painting, and she took several painting classes. She loved to share her landscapes with friends and family. But above all, Diane was a generous and caring sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending hours with her family. Besides her husband , Diane is survived by her son, Larry Jr., his wife, Tamara J. Costanza; daughter, Donna (Bill) Clark; sons, Jim (Nicole) and Jason; grandchildren, Sarah, Garth, Brandon, Savannah, Melody, and Jacob; and great-grandchild, Adrian. She is also survived by her brothers, Mike (Betty) Jozefowicz of Dubuque, Iowa, Pat (Jean) Jozefowicz of Fennimore, and Mark (Lois) Josefowicz of Belleville; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Karen) Hill of Port Orchard, Wash., and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Brady Hill; her parents; brother, Francis; sister, Donna Jozefowicz; nephew, Kevin Jozefowicz; sister-in-law, Linda Hill Rock; mother-in-law, Ethel Skewis; father-in-law GC (Jim) Hill Jr.; and niece, Nora Lee Mae Coleman. A Memorial Masswill be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, with Father Kent Schmitt, Deacon David Hendrickson, and Deacon Pat Jozefowicz presiding.Visitationwill be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010.
