CHARLESTON, WV/ RYE BROOK, NY- Elizabeth (Libby) K. McNabb, age 93, passed away on Thursday, 9/16/2010 at the Don & Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center in Fitchburg, WI.Born Elizabeth Anne Kuhn on 8/20/1917 in Warren (Knox County), KY, her parents were Elizabeth Anne Worsham, Tazewell, VA, and Lawrence Grover Kuhn, McConnelsville, OH. After her mother died during the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918, she was raised in Helen and Beckley, WV, by her maternal grandparents Lavelette Estelle Hopkins and Gustavus Adolphus Worsham. In 1935, she graduated from South Charleston, WV High School.She married Samuel Alexander McNabb on 9/12/1940 in Charleston, WV and she worked at Coyle and Richardson Department Store during the war years.Moving from Charleston, WV in 1956, she spent the next 41 years in Rye Brook, NY, where she lovingly raised her family of four leaving behind: LTC (Ret.) Samuel A. McNabb III (Hoa), Stafford, VA; Stephen Lawrence McNabb (Anne), Cottage Grove, WI; Marilyn Beth Roffey-Mitchell (Napier), Pimpana, Australia and Lee Ann Schneider (Thomas), Wilton, CT. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Catherine, Emily and Susan McNabb; Stephanie and Elizabeth McNabb; Ted Roffey-Mitchell and Whitney and Leighton Schneider.She was pre-deceased by her husband Samuel and her Aunt Mary Jane Biddison (Worsham). During her life she was an active mom and homemaker participating as a PTA President, Cub Scout Den Mother, Elder in the Presbyterian Church and always closely followed the progress of her children. She spent many years working as a teachers aide in the Port Chester, NY, public school system. She was a huge proponent for animal rights and was always willing to assist her friends and family when in need.For the six years prior to her husbands death in 2003, she lived in Palm Beach County, FL. Eventually, she made her way to Cottage Grove, WI, where her last years were happily spent at the Angelus Retirement Community.There will be a Memorial Service at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, 229 N. Main Street Cottage Grove, WI on Friday 9/24/10 at 11:00 am.The family wishes to thank the staff at Angelus and all her friends there for helping to make her final years very enjoyable. The family also wishes to thank the cardiology staff at Meriter Hospital, Madison, WI, and Hospice for their great care.

There will be a Memorial Service at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, 229 N. Main Street Cottage Grove, WI on Friday 9/24/10 at 11:00 am.
