Jean Hawkins

Middleton-Jean K. Hawkins, age 86, daughter of William C. and Meta (Sim) Krueger, was born October 26, 1923 and died September 16, 2010. Jean grew up on a dairy farm near Genoa City, graduated from UW-Madison and taught high school English in Antioch, IL. On October 11, 1947 she married Charles W. Hawkins. She lived in Pleasant Prairie until 1977 when she moved to Middleton. Jean enjoyed Wisconsin's nature lands and supported their preservation. She is survived by her children Ellyn (Richard) Sabby of Monument, Co, Laurie (Todd) Gosewehr of Middleton, Janet (Todd) Pfeiffer of Lexington, KY and Rob (Chris) Hawkins of Bristol, sister Elizabeth Krueger of Fox Point, and 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, October15 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4100 Nakoma Road, Madison.
