Obituary
MADISON- Marjorie Cameron Becker, age 97, of Monona, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at St. Marys Care Center. She was born on June 13, 1913, in Wagner, S.D., the daughter of John and Nell Cameron. Marjorie graduated in 1935, with a B.A. degree from Beloit College. She met Oliver Becker while working at Wisconsin Power & Light in Beloit, and they were later married on June 19, 1943. They traveled extensively together throughout their 48 years of marriage. Marjorie was employed through the Slavic language department at the University of Wisconsin, and retired in December 1978. She was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority and Westminster Presbyterian Church. Marjorie enjoyed singing in the Chancel Choir. She was also an active volunteer at the church, and the Red Cross. She is survived by her children, Nell Seiberlich and Phil (Joan) Becker; grandchildren, Todd Seiberlich, Tim (Paula) Seiberlich, Tedd (Heather) Seiberlich, Andrew Becker, and Michael (Stacy) Becker; and great-grandchildren, Karen Hilgers and Emma Becker. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband on March 3, 1992; her parents; and brothers, Richard and Donald Cameron. Funeral services will be held at WESTMINSTER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 4100 Nakoma Road, Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, with the Rev. Alex Thornburg presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church Music Program.
