William M. McLamore

MIDDLETON-William M. McLamore, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2010. He was born on March 15, 1921, in Shreveport, LA., the son of Weldon and Edna McLamore. William attended Rice University in Houston Texas, and received his PhD. in Organic Chemistry from Harvard University. William worked for the Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company in drug research for over 45 years until his retirement. It was there that he developed the first oral drug for Diabetes. William was an avid photographer and had his art shown in many venues. In 2005, he moved to Madison to be nearer to his family. William was a very generous and supportive father and grandfather who treasured most the time he spent with his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and will be remembered for his quick wit and making everyone laugh. William is survived by his daughter, Alison Dorner and two grandchildren, Amy and Alex Dorner. A Memorial gathering will be held at Attic Angel Place Community Room, 8301 Old Sauk Road, Middleton at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 16, 2010.
