Obituary
Sun Prairie/DeForest- Romaine Harland Throne Lothe, age 80, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010. He was born on Sept. 26, 1930, in Stoughton, the son of Carl and Esther (Halverson) Lothe. Romaine married Jean Slotten, on Oct. 27, 1951. He was the Director of Customer Service at the Madison Post Office. Romaine held many supervisory and administrative positions throughout his 30 year career. He retired from the post office at 55 years old, on Jan. 3, 1986. Romaine and Jean enjoyed many wonderful years of travel together. He was a self-taught carpenter, and was able to fix anything. Romaine was always willing to help anyone. He was a member of Eastside Business Mens Association, and a very active member of Burke Lutheran Church, serving on many committees. Romaine most recently was Church Council President. He was devoted to his family, and will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 59 years, Jean; sons, Rodney (Denise) of Edgerton, Daniel (Sandy) of Sun Prairie, and Timothy of Houston, Texas; daughters, Jeannine (Ed) Lauersdorf of Sun Prairie and Amy (Tim) Mueller of Rockton, Ill.; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Kittleson; brother-in-law, Don (Shirley) Slotten; and several nieces and nephews. Romaine was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, David; brothers-in-law, Irving Kittleson and Forrest Slotten; sister-in-law, Elaine Slotten; and infant great-granddaughters, Gabrielle Poole and Faith Mueller. Memorial services will be held at Burke Lutheran Church, 5720 Portage Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, with Rev. Russ Leeper presiding. Burial will follow at Burke Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday. A special thank you to St. Marys MICU staff, Don and Marilyn Anderson, HospiceCare Inc., and Dr. Nuquest. This is not the end, its a new beginning. Well done, good and faithful servant. You touched all our hearts, we will miss and love you forever Dad. Until we meet again...
Cemetery:
Burial will follow at Burke Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation:
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
Service:
Memorial services will be held at Burke Lutheran Church, 5720 Portage Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, with Rev. Russ Leeper presiding.
