William John 'Bill' Gallagher

Gallagher, William John "Bill"STOUGHTON - William John "Bill" Gallagher, age 77, of Stoughton passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010. He was born September 17, 1933, in Madison, the son of Eugene and Mary Gallagher. Bill attended Middleton schools. He married Doris Anderson on Sept. 6, 1952. After a short stint in the National Guard, Bill started hauling for Pet Milk in 1952, then onto B & M Transit. In 1969 he and Doris purchased the family farm, and started the Clark Gas station in Stoughton. For many years he oversaw the farm, gas station and livestock trucking business. The cows were sold in 1999 and the farmland rented out. Bill then worked for Mandt Trucking before being hired in 2001 at Bill\'s Food in Oregon. Bill is survived by his children, Clyde (Kathie) Gallagher of Cooksville, Duane (Janet) Gallagher of Stoughton, Steve (JoAnn) Gallagher of Stoughton, Mike (Tammy) Gallagher of Auburndale, Danny(Tracey) Gallagher of Stoughton, and Cindy (Dave Bahr) Schmitt of Sun Prairie; ten grandchildren, Kasey, Nate (Lindsay), Chad, Jonathan and Matthew Gallagher, and Zach (Anna) Anderson of Stoughton, Nicole (Matt) Scovill of Deerfield, Alex , Mena and Evan Schmitt of Sun Prairie; two great grandchildren, Tristen Anderson and Rayne Gallagher; his extended family, Elizabeth Lincicum, Margaret Smith, Jerry Gallagher of Madison and Dottie Klein of Waunakee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; parents; brothers, Clyde and Keith Gallagher; sisters, Gladys Bailey, Olive Keller and Ann Munz. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at 11 a.m. at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 625 E. Netherwood, Oregon. Burial will be at Graves Cemetery in the township of Rutland. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy. 51, Stoughton.
