Patrick J. 'Pat' Burns

MONONA - Patrick J. "Pat" Burns, age 63, of Monona, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on May 28, 1947, in Dodgeville, the son of Joseph and Lucille (Weier) Burns. Pat graduated from Hollandale High School in 1965. He was united in marriage to Judy Seeley on Dec. 5, 1987, in Las Vegas, Nev. Pat served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked at Danisco for 30 years. Pat enjoyed the Packers and spending time with his family on his pontoon boat. He loved telling jokes and had a great sense of humor. Pat loved his wife and was very good to her. He also adored his dog, Gizmo. Pat is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Judy; son, John (Trina) Jensen; grandchildren, Dane and Mea Jensen, and Alexandra and Drew Elbe; son-in-law, Kevin Elbe; siblings, Virginia Benson, Mike (Sharon), Ken, Larry (Carolyn), Rose (Mike) Ohlert, Maureen Goen, Becky (Larry) Ehrhorn, and Georgine Miller; sisters-in-law, Doris Kuehn, JoEllen Burns, Nancy Kelliher, and Jeanette Cass; brother-in-law, Raymond (Yvonne) Seeley; and many nieces and nephews; He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Nancee Elbe; step dad, Walt Broughton; sister, Jocile Pirkel;brothers, Ron and John; brothers-in-law, Bob Pirkel and Warren Benson; and sister-in-law, Mary Burns. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, with HospiceCare Inc. Chaplain Linda OLeary presiding. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Hollandale, following the service. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
