Obituary
Rosko, William "Bill" Anthony
MADISON - William "Bill" Anthony Rosko, age 64, of Madison, born Nov. 30, 1946, entered into eternal rest on Dec. 16, 2010. Born in Chicago, Ill., to Ed and Anne Rosko, Bill graduated from Wausaukee High School in 1965, and attended the University of Wisconsin-Marinette. With his education, he began a career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison-Memorial Union, and later transitioned to the University's warehouse, eventually working in the University Hospitals' Purchasing Department. In 2001, after serving as the Director of Purchasing for the UW Hospital, he retired. Before and after his retirement, Bill was an active member of his church communities, including Lake Edge UCC (Madison), Memorial UCC (Fitchburg), Friedens UCC (Fort Atkinson) and, most recently, First UCC in Reeseville, Wis. In addition to his active church participation, he served as a Sunday school teacher and regularly attended weekly Bible studies. Bill also completed four years of Lay Academy, an endeavor in which he took much pride. Throughout his life, Bill had many passions. Among his most cherished was his voracious love of reading, a habit which saw him reading as many as two books per week. Perhaps his greatest joy in life, however, was found in journeys to his family's rural property in Amberg. It was there that he found solace, peace and tranquility. Bill went up north as often as possible, and counted the days to spring when he could again return to the place he called home. A devoted family man, William married The Reverend Lois Feierabend on April 4, 1972, with whom he raised three children, Rebekah (Alan) Leddon, Deborah Rosko and Keturah (Timothy) Brechlin. He is survived by wife, Lois; his brother, Glenn; his daughters; and his granddaughter, Raven. William was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Anne. Memorial services will be held at LAKE EDGE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 4200 Buckeye Road, Madison, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, with the Reverend Gail O'Neal presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from noon until the time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, William's family requests that donations be made to the Reeseville Accessibility Fund; otherwise, please make them to a local church, or to a local library.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to you on the loss of your husband/father. Bill was a good friend to me as well as a valued co-worker. He made my employment with UWHC Purchasing a good place to work. My prayers are with you all at this sad time.

My deepest condolences on your loss. I enjoyed Bill's wit and wisdom through many purchasing sessions at UW Hospital. He taught me how to negotiate with vendors and bring the best value to the purchase. I relished his sense of humor regarding the purchasing process and life in general. He was in many ways a renaissance man and I hope your memories will give you strength.

I'm sorry for the loss of Bill. I am his dad's brother's daughter. I haven't seen Bill since our grandmother died in 1972 but thought about him and his brother Glenn often. I always wanted to see him again but didn't know where he was. I wish I knew he was so close. I am only a few hours away and there is also more family even closer.
Glenn, please contact me by phone if you want to. I would love to meet you. As for you Lois, I would also like to meet you and your daughters. I feel family is important. Please call me.
