Obituary

Claridge, Jim BROOKLYN- Jim Claridge, age 60, of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side, on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at HospiceCare, Inc., from complications of liver cancer. Jim was born on Sept. 24, 1950, in Reedsburg, the son of Charles E. and Jeanette (Rick) Claridge. Jim married Mary Sniadajewski on July 10, 1981, in Madison. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Webb High School in Reedsburg. Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1971 until 1977. He worked as a land surveyor and for the last 28 years worked for Coyle Carpet. Jim was an avid fan of the Birkie and looked forward to the annual trip north to cheer on all of the athletes and especially to support the family skiers. He also enjoyed blue grass music, reading, watching the Badgers and Green Bay Packers, photography, traveling and especially loved visiting Alaska. Jim most of all loved being with his family. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary; mother, Jeanette Claridge; brother, Thomas (Marcella) Claridge; sisters, Betty Claridge, Jeanne Claridge and Elaine (Dave) Fangmeier; nieces, Anne Claridge, Mary E. (Len) Lee and Monica Claridge; nephews, Craig Fangmeier and Michael Fangmeier; grand niece, Gabrielle Lee; and numerous loving in-laws. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Claridge. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highground Veterans Memorial Park, W7031 Ridge Road, Neillsville, Wisconsin 54456. A special thanks to Jenny Malak, Rebecca Parkes, Dr. Khuu and the staff of Dean Hematology and Oncology, Jim's friends at Coyle Carpet and the Wi DHS Bureau of Fiscal Services for their kindness and support during Jim's illness.
