Meinholz, Thomas J., Sr.
MADISON Thomas J. Meinholz Sr.,age 73, of Madison, passed away January 13, 2011. Born in Ashton, WI April 20, 1937 to Al and Rose (Spahn) Meinholz. Tom grew up on the family farm until he enlisted in the Navy in 1959. Upon discharge from the Navy in 1963 he was employed by the Steamfitter Local Union 394/601 until his retirement. Tom is survived by four children, Trudy (Michael) Whyte, Thomas, Jr. (Cara), Theresa (Kasey) Gray, and Tricia Meinholz, and five grandchildren Skyler Meinholz, Eric and Ian Whyte, McGwire and Gabriella Gray; a special friend Delores Vozka, her 5 children and 11 grandchildren, his sisters, Agnes Acker and Rose (John) Berkich, sister in-laws Joyce Meinholz and Karen Meinholz/Niesen, a brother in-law Keith Faust, and the mother of his children Luanne (Volk) Meinholz, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and brothers Joseph (Jody) and Aloysius (Allie), a sister Jane Faust and brother in-law Ervin Acker. A Memorial service will be held GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 29, 2011. A Memorial Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Hydrocephalus Foundation, PBS Public Broadcasting Service, National Wildlife Federation Fund, Sierra Club, ASPCA, Dane Cty. Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
