Gloria M. (Nelson) Kopplin

Kopplin, Gloria M. (Nelson) MADISON- Gloria M. (Nelson) Kopplin, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on Jan. 28, 1940, in Madison, the daughter of Elmer and Bessie Brussow. Gloria graduated from Madison East High School in 1958. She married Irvin Ziegler on June 6, 1966. Gloria married Julian Nelson on May 6, 1987. He preceded her in death in 2004. She then married William Kopplin on April 1, 2006. Gloria worked as a nurses aide for two years at Madison General Hospital. She also worked with her family for Skips Cleaning Service until the business closed. After that, she spent her time caring for family and others. Gloria was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 7591 and American Legion Post No. 534 in McFarland. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, holiday Christmas villages and loved animals. Gloria loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, friends and others. She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Kopplin; her children, Tammy (Paul) Roth, Randy (Kim) Ziegler, Terry Ziegler and Ramona (Scott) Rolff, all of Madison; three grandchildren, Courtney and Tyler Ziegler, and Kaden Rolff; and sister, Cheryl Scheible of Eden Prairie, Minn. Gloria was preceded in death by her husbands, Irvin and Julian; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at ST. STEPHEN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Road, Monona, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, with the Rev. Nick Utphall presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital ER and Doctor Paul Wertsch for the care they gave Gloria.
