Obituary

MADISON-G. William Bill Hrobsky, age 79, passed away on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. He was born in Milwaukee, on Nov. 22, 1931, to George and Marie Hrobsky. He was an only child, but was fortunate to have been a member of a wonderful family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Bills elementary school years were spent in Lyson, Wis. The family then moved to Burlington and Bill attended Burlington High School where he was elected class president and made lifelong friends. Upon graduation from high school in 1949, Bill attended Marquette University for one year, followed by service in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. When he was discharged, he enrolled at the UW-Madison and later transferred to Madison Business College where he received his degree in accounting and business administration. Bill met Joan Margaret Fox at MBC and they were married on Oct. 25, 1958. Bill worked as an accountant for Dairy Equipment and as controller of Berg Company for many years. He also had his real estate brokers license and worked for Midland Homes. Bill had many interests and excelled in everything he did, from bridge and cribbage to bowling and golf. He especially loved golf and was proud to have made two holes in one. The family thanks all of his former golfing buddies. He was a member of the East Side Club, the Elks, the American Legion and Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. Bill is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Steven Hrobsky of Madison; nephews, Daniel Fox of Nashville, Tenn., and David (Nina) Fox of Pleasanton, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Juli Joan Mark; and brother-in-law, Dennis J. Fox. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. Bills long journey through Alzheimers disease is over and his family thanks those at the Belmont Center and those from HospiceCare who looked after him with love and concern.
