Amdahl, Alvin P. Jr.
MADISON-Alvin P. Amdahl, Jr., age 81, passed away on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at his home. He was born on Feb. 11, 1930 in Stanley, Wisc., the son of Alvin P. and Leona C. (Dahm) Amdahl, Sr. He graduated from Cadott High School and went on to become an Apprentice Mason. Alvin went on to own his own masonry business for the duration of his career. He married Caroline Currie on July 16, 2005 at Messiah Lutheran Church. Alvin loved to bowl and earned many trophies. He enjoyed hunting, muskie fishing and was a great dancer. Alvin and Caroline enjoyed spending time in Arizona in the winter. Alvin is survived by his wife, Caroline; daughter, Karen (Roger G.) Lippitt, Sr.; sons, Donald Amdahl and Ronald Amdahl; Caroline's children, Cheryl Schwarz, LuAnn (Tom) Sheridan, Theresa (Mark) Storlid; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lyell (Diane) Amdahl and Walt (Nancy) Amdahl. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald Amdahl. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, with the Rev. Jeff VandenHeuvel presiding. Private family burial will be held at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Friday. Memorials may be made to the family. Al was not only my husband, but my best friend. He was such a patient man; one in which I could count on no matter what. He was my rock. I'll miss you buddy! Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Friday.
