Howard Cooper, Jr.

MADISON/VIRGINIA - Howard Cooper Jr., age 59, of Madison and Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at UW Hospital. He was born on July 20, 1951, in Virginia, the son of Howard and Florence (Duke) Cooper Sr. Howard worked in construction for many years. In his younger years he enjoyed motorcycle riding, walking in the mountains of Virginia, boating and working on cars. He embraced the role of grandpa and lived for his grandkids. Howard is survived by his father; son, William (Laurie) Cadorette; daughter, April Cooper; grandchildren, Amanda and Carsen Cadorette; and sisters, Sandy Summers, Cricket Cooper, and Dora Lee (Arnold) Wray; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; and brother-in-law, Wrap Summers; and a niece Yvonne Summers. A memorial service will be held at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m., on Sunday, March 6, 2011 with Rev. Mary Pharmer presiding.
