Lucille A. Anderson-Duffey

MADISON - Lucille A. Anderson-Duffey, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, in Madison. She was born on April 27, 1921, the daughter of Herman and Amelia (Braun) Klitzman. She graduated from Madison East High School with the class of 1939. She married Arvid Anderson who preceded her in death in 1963, and then married Wayne Duffey, who preceded her in death in 1983. Lucille worked for the State of Wisconsin for 23 years in the food service and mail room departments, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Lakeview Moravian Church, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 1318. Lucille was active at the Monona Senior Center and volunteered for RSVP Dane County for many years. Lucille is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Richard) Smith; daughter-in-law, Sharon Blank; grandsons, Brian Smith, Jeff (Kris) Anderson and Brian (Allison) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jon Smith, Sammi Jo Smith, Sara Anderson and Pete Anderson; step-daughters, Ruth Ann (George), Kari (Jim) Fitzpatrick, and Diana (Doug) Backus. She was preceded in death by her son, Norman; her parents; husbands; brothers, Herbert, Elmer and Floyd; and a sister, Margarete. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, with the Rev. Staci Marrese-Wheeler presiding. Burial will be held at the Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
