Geneva Phipps

LODI - Geneva Phipps was released from the prison of Alzheimer's and reunited with her husband, Ned, on Thursday, February 24, 2011. She was born August 6, 1931, the daughter of Albert and Ollie Holt. She was united in marriage to Ned Phipps on August 8, 1953 and they remained together until Ned's death in 2001. An outdoors woman, Geneva loved gardening, bird watching and long walks. She was also an avid chocheter and seamstress. Another enjoyable part of her life was the time spent visiting with family and friends. In her later years, she found great pleasure in the joys of grandparenting. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Ned; her siblings, Arlander, Therold, Raymond, Alice and Charlie; and her grandson, Jacob. She is survived by her sons, John (Sha Marie Horn) and Chuck (Kristy); her daughter, Janet ( Jim Quattrocchi); and her grandchildren, Mary, Robert and Sarah. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the LODI UNITED METHODIST CHURCH with the Rev. Scott Walters officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m. until the service at the church. Interment will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or to the American Cancer Society.
