Charleen Richmond

LODI - Charleen Chrisler Richmond, age 83, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011 after a long illness. She was born on August 1, 1927, the daughter of the late Howard and Alice (Hoppe) Chrisler in the Township of West Point. While spending a summer with an aunt in Madison, Wisconsin, she met the love of her life. Charleen Chrisler and Vernon E. Richmond were united in marriage on December 20, 1947. They raised their family in Madison and spent summers near the family farm in the Town of West Point. Charleen loved her days at Smokeys and Pooles Cuba Club as a waitress. She took pride in giving the best customer service she could. Charleen and Vernon retired at the country home in 1992. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her perennial beds and keeping the history alive for the country school in West Point. Nothing would make her happier than to share the abundance of vegetables from their garden. Charleen is survived by her husband, Vernon; four sons, Douglas (Sharon), Gary (Laura), Bruce (Sandy) all of Lodi, and Scott (Annette) of Stoughton; nine grandchildren, Heather (Brian), Jessica, Tammi, Wesley (Jill), Daniel, Breanna (Matt), Krista, Jada and Halle; three great-grandchildren, Devyn, Trystan and Jalyn; two sisters-in-law, Janette Chrisler and Sharon (Tom) Nielson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Alice Chrisler; a brother, James Chrisler; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Marie Richmond; and brother-in-law, Charles (Ann) Richmond. The family would like to thank the staffs at The Pines, Maplewood and Home Health United Hospice for the care Charleen received. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the HAMRE FUNERAL HOME in Lodi. Family and friends may call from 1:00p.m. until the service. Interment will be at Garden Bluff Cemetery. Memorials to the Garden Bluff Cemetery Association would be appreciated. Mother, may you find peace now and rest in eternal life. Love, your family.
