Elizabeth J. 'Bettie' Halverson

Halverson, Elizabeth J. "Bettie"MADISON-Elizabeth J. "Bettie" Halverson, age 88, of Madison passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Willow Pointe Assisted Living in Verona. She was born on Dec. 29, 1922, in Madison, the daughter of James and Mary (Kelly) Doyle. Bettie was united in marriage to Andy Halverson in 1962. He preceded her in death in 1998. Bettie worked for the State of Wisconsin Dept. of Public Instruction. She enjoyed her home on the lake, boating, and worldwide traveling. Bettie also lived in Weslaco, Texas for 15 years. She is survived by her sons, Alan (Rita) Moldenhauer of New Glarus, and Wayne (Connie) Moldenhauer of Madison; grandchildren, Anita (Jim) Bechen, Jennifer Best, Shannon (Christy) Moldenhauer, and James (Chris) Moldenhauer; and seven great-grandchildren. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Diana Shope; six sisters; anda brother. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at HospiceCare Inc. and Willow Pointe for the care given to Bettie. Cemetery: Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
