Obituary

LODI - Leone M. Voigt, age 98, of Lodi, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Lodi Good Samaritan Center. The former Leone Dushek was born in Columbia County on March 25, 1913, the daughter of the late Frank and Clara (McLeish) Dushek. She married Meril Voigt of West Salem, Illinois on July 18, 1935. A graduate of Lodi High School and Milwaukee Teachers College she and her husband moved to a farm on the Arlington Prairie where they farmed until 1957 when they retired and moved to Lodi. She then worked at the Coffee Cup Restaurant, Central Colony, Dolphin's Supper Club, Jeffrey's Restaurant and Supper Club, and Dr. Bohlman's Dental Office where she was employed for 13 years. She was a member of the Lodi United Methodist Church, the U.M.W. Society, Eastern Star Chapter #4, and the Past Matrons Society. Surviving her are a daughter, Marilyn (Richard) Pribbenow and a son, James Voigt, both of Lodi; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Meril 'Duffy' on March 18, 1986; a daughter, Betty; a son-in-law, Jude Howe; a grandson, Daniel Howe; two brothers, Ray and Elmer Dushek; and a sister, Lorraine Traut. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the LODI UNITED METHODIST CHURCH with the Rev. Scott Walters and the Rev. Julie Wilson officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the service at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Lodi United Methodist Church or to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Road Improvement Fund.
