Browne, Marshall Francis Jr. MADISON-Marshall Francis Browne Jr., age 84, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011. He was born August 24, 1926, in Madison to Marshall and Vera (Clarke) Browne. He was a graduate of East High School and the University of Wisconsin. Marshall served as a volunteer ambulance driver with the American Field Service in Italy and India in World War II. He was president of Impressions, Inc., formerly Eastside Print Shop, the family printing and typesetting business for over 30 years. After retirement, he was a school bus driver for more than 13 years. Marshall is survived by his wife of 61 years, Caryl (Klug) Browne; two sons, Mark of Cheyenne, Wyo., Brad (Cindy) of Allen, Texas; two daughters, Sally (Steve) Hodge of DeForest, Polly of North Mankato, Minn.; sister, Dorothy (Browne) Haines of Monona; granddaughters, Stephanie (Jason) Schultz, Katy (Matt) Gefaller, Kelly Browne, Anna (Kyle) Logsdon, Becky Browne and Kara Browne; grandson, Aaron Browne; great-grandchildren, Reagan Gefaller and Kaylie Logsdon; and several nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Georgiana Smith; and nephew, Jeff Haines. Marsh was active in many civic organizations in his younger years and had been president of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and a charter member and president of the Madison East Rotary Club. A memorial service will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee Street, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011, with the Rev. Mark Bartels presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. The family suggests that memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Madison East Rotary Club.
