Obituary
Jordan, James J. "Jack"MONTELLO/MONONA-James J. Jordan, age 92, of Montello, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 in Montello. He was born on Sept, 1, 1918, in Waterloo, the son of Walter and Mayme (Pendergast) Jordan. Jack served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Oscar Mayer Foods, retiring in 1981. Jack was known for his calligraphy and was an avid bowler. He was a member of American Legion 429, Monona, American Legion, Waterloo, and VFW Post 8483, Madison. Jack is survived by two daughters, Debra (Wayne) Schwartzlow of Edgerton, and Mary Ann (Roy) Paul, of Montello; grandchildren, Jason Schwartzlow, Tina Schwartzlow, Tomi Schuessler, Todd Peterson and Tara Monthie; five great-grandchildren; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife and friend, Marian Jordan; brother, Robert Jordan; and sister, Susie McCaffery. Funeral services will be held at MONONA LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4411 Monona Dr., Monona, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 12, 2011, with the Rev. William Pekari presiding. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Waterloo, at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
