Obituary
MADISON - Bev Hornbeck, age 74, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at HospiceCare. She was born to Gunvald Shold and Julia Jacobson on December 6, 1936. Bev married Glen "Nobby" Hornbeck in 1955. Together they raised two children, Steven (Debbi) and Lori (Paul). Bev worked for Kroger and Kohls as a meat wrapper and finished her career at WPS. She retired four years ago. Bev enjoyed shopping, shopping, and more shopping, garage sales and traveling. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She followed all their sports and plays, and enjoyed being with them. Bev was alone for many years, but reunited with her high school sweetheart, Bob Miller, 10 years ago and cherished their time together. Bev is survived by her children, Steven (Debbi) and Lori (Paul) ; her grandchildren, Kim Hornbeck MD, Kelly Hornbeck, Jacob Braund and Jenna Braund; two sisters, Joyce Urdahl and Darlene (Melvin) Hustad, sisters-in-law, Helen Shold and Beatrice Waters; and a brother-in-law, Mike (Pam)Hornbeck ; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Bob Miller and his loving family, Craig (Jeanette), Scott, Mark (Vicki), Kristi and Rod Klein, Sean, Sheri,and Wendi, and all his grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981 and her brother Gordon Shold in 1983. Bev will be sorely missed as she always brought happiness and laughter. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Burial will be held at Blooming Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. The family would like to thank Dr. Ellen Flannery, nurses at St. Marys Hospital, Dean Heart Clinic, Firemen from Rescue 5 and HospiceCare, Inc., for their compassionate care.
Cemetery:
Burial will be held at Blooming Grove Cemetery.
Visitation:
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
Service:
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
