Steven Clay Gifford

Gifford, Steven Clay SUN PRAIRIE/PORTAGE-Steven Clay Gifford, age 57, of Sun Prairie, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at St. Mary's Sun Prairie ER. He was born on Feb. 17, 1954, in Portage, the son of Sidney and Carmen (Berkvam) Gifford. Steven graduated from Portage High School in 1972. He then attended UW-Baraboo, graduating with an associate degree in science. Steven married Mary Doepke on April 15, 1978, in Portage. He enjoyed attending church, collecting antiques and telling stories, but most of all spending time with family and friends. Steven is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Adam Gifford and Zachary Gifford; daughter, Sarah Gifford; grandson, Adam Gifford Jr.; sister, Jean Arnce; brother, Alan (Robin) Gifford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gifford Family.
