Kathleen Anderson-Young

MARSHALL - Kathleen Anderson-Young of Marshall, age 67, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at home. She was born on May 29, 1944, in Richland Center, the daughter of Lee and Margit (Goplen) Anderson. Kathy worked as a beautician at various locations, food service at the family-owned restaurants and Omalleys Farm Caf, and back office functions at Kitchen Kabinets & Kounters in Naples, Fla., and Aljan Co. of Madison. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, photos and being a Badgers and Packers fan/clown. She also enjoyed spending crazy time with a lot of close friends, especially her lifelong-childhood friend, Merna Queen. Kathleen is survived by the father of her children, George Young of Ocala, Fla.; children, Debbie Young of Duluth, Ga. and Jeff (Kim); grandchildren, McKenzie and Gabriel Young of Bishop, Ga.; sister, Marlene (Stan) Dingle; brothers-in-law, Jim (Ginny) Mackesey and Al Young; sister-in-law, Nancy Crimmins; many nieces and nephews; and special relatives and friends that meant so much to her. Kathy shared her last happy years with Dave Bakken; his son, Jeff (Paula) and his children, Morgan, McKayla and Kelsey; his daughter, Laurie (Matt) and her children Jake and Josh of Marshall; and her pets, Buddie, Ted & Kitty. She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, George (Catherine) Young; brother-in-law, Jim Crimmins; and friend, Jack Taylor. A memorial service will be held at FIVE POINTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 25925 Fivepoints Drive, Blue River, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011. A luncheon will follow at the church. Private interment will occur at a later date. A second visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011.
