Philip Ogutu Onani

MADISON WI/USA- Philip Ogutu Onani, age 31, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011, in Madison, as a result of a car accident. He was born on May 4, 1980, in Nairobi, Kenya, the son of Joseph Onani and Eunice Aloo (Omolo) Ogutu. Philip grew up in Kisumu, Kenya. He married Tosha Seegmiller in 2009. He was currently attending Madison Area Technical College for a degree in Industrial Maintenance. Philip volunteered at the Ice Age Trail and Rosemary Garfoot Public Library in Cross Plains, and the YWCA with children and worked at Production Machine Enterprises “PME”. He was a handy man who could fix anything. Philip had a passion for listening and dancing to loud music, with a special place in his heart for Reggae.Philip had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He always smiled and made friends easily. Philip was a free-spirit who loved to eat and cook Kenyan food. Above all, Philip loved and supported his family, both here and in Kenya. Philip is survived by his wife Tosha of Madison; his parents, Joseph and Eunice; sisters, Ken (Robert), Vicki, Gracie; brothers, Paul and Peter;and nieces and nephews, all of Kisumu, Kenya. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from noon until 2 p.m. and also from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27,2011. Funeral services and burial for Philip will be held in Kenya. In lieu of flowers,please make donations to Tosha Seegmiller.
