Also he retired from Oscar Mayer's after a long career with the company. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish for many years where he served in the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent de Paul Society. Walter and his first wife, Dolor were married for 52 years. She passed away in 1996. He is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as two adopted daughters, Dodie Nendza and Cheryl Smith.

I am one of Walter (Bud's) grand daughters. He was married for 50 plus years to my Grandmother Dolor. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, children, grand children and great grand children. He loved to travel, camp, swim and spend time with family. He loved taking us to the circus and traveling around during the summer to all of the State and County fairs.
He & Dolor spent alot of time after his retirement from Oscar Mayer traveling in their camper, until she was no longer able to travel. He was a part of a BIG family! May he Rest in Peace.

Thank you Shelly and Dodie for completing the obituary to include Walter’s (Bud’s) full life history which included his larger family with our Gran (Dolor) of 52 years, his career at Oscar Mayer which he was very proud of, his many years of membership with Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in which he attended daily mass and his service with the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent DePaul Society. He instilled the qualities of helping others within his family. Thank you to Jean’s family for including his life with Jean. Grandpa is survived by many … may he Rest in Peace and know that we love him dearly. Please watch over us as our special Angel. I have a poem I would like to share that helps me to express “In Memory of My Grandpa Bud.” Love
Ten Minutes

In Memory of My Grandpa Bud
If I only had ten minutes the day you passed away,
I would have had time to tell you things I needed to say.
I never got to tell you how much you mean to me,
Or that you were loved by your family, more than you could see.
The last time that I talked to you
I wish I would have known.
I would have said I love you more,
and kept you on the phone.
If I only had ten minutes,
before you passed away,
I'd give you one last hug so tight and see your great big smile.
I'd kiss your cheek and take your hand and tell you it's okay to go
And tell you that I'll miss you,
more than you'll ever know.
But you have gone so peacefully,
One last journey you’d take.
Before you knew it,
you were standing at heaven’s gate.
Now God has called upon you,
It's time to get your wings.
To leave this life behind you,
And enjoy all of heavens beautiful things.
So wait for me in heaven,
Don't let me come alone.
The day the angels come for me,
Please be there with Gran to bring me home.
Love from your family with Dolor (Gran) of 52 years -- we will miss you. Please watch over us as our special Angel.

Uncle Bud, How I have missed our many trips traveling back to your home state of New York. The many stories you shared with us about growing up in New York and serving in the navy during the war. You taught me many things but one I will always be gratfull for is how to could for a crowd and make it taste good. We love you and you will always be in our hearts. Bill, Dawn Meyer and family.
